The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is in place to safeguard personal data. We do our best to comply with the GDPR. Below, we explain which privacy-sensitive data we store and how we manage and process this data.
Your Visit to This Website
All of the data you send through this website is transferred over HTTPS using the TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption protocol. This ensures the confidentiality of your data.
To keep your personal information safe, this website uses analytical cookies only. IP addresses are rendered anonymous.
Personal Data
You provide your personal data whenever you request a quote or submit a text for translation into Dutch.
We use this personal data only for the intended purpose, such as to send an invoice or stay in touch. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary.
Project Data
We use computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools to create an English to Dutch translation memory (TM) and, in some cases, a glossary.
This stored data helps us work more efficiently on your subsequent projects.
Security
We store personal data and project data on the storage media of a dedicated, password-protected computer. This client is protected by Microsoft’s built-in security software, Windows Security, in combination with a secondary virus scanner, which is in line with the recommendations put forward by The New York Times in their Privacy Project.
Every two hours a local back-up is automatically made on an on-site external storage device. The data on this device is AES encrypted.
Examine, Amend or Remove Data
If you would like to examine your data or have it amended and/or removed from our systems, just let us know. After verifying your identity, we will comply with your request as quickly as possible.
